The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) is responsible for keeping and issuing of driving records. Your driving record shows your driving history for the past three years, with some exceptions. It shows the following information: Points for moving violations, DUI convictions (remain on your record for 55 years), traffic tickets, accidents in which you have been involved in, driver’s license suspensions or revocations and other driving-related infractions or convictions.
You can order for a copy of your driving record online, in person, by phone and fax. To order online you will need to use the Online Driver History Records Service. And provide your New Mexico driver’s license number, your date of birth and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. To order in person, visit your local NM MVD office, you will need a completed Confidential Records Release form (MVD-11260). To order by phone call the NM Motor Vehicle Division at (888) 683-4636 for FREE. To order by fax, fax the Confidential Records Release form (MVD-11260) to the New Mexico MVD at (505) 827-2792. Make sure you include your name and telephone number with the faxed form. You will receive the driving record by mail within 2 weeks. The state only offers a free driving record if you order in person, if you order through a different method you will have to pay a fee of $6.63.
