Free Driving Records in Delaware

Driving records in Delaware are issued by the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); they contain information about your driving history for the past three years, including the current status of your driving license and any suspensions or convictions.

The Delaware DMW allows you to obtain your driving record by mail, in person or online. You cannot order your driving record by phone. To order your driving record by mail, you have to fill a Personal Information Release Form (MV703) which must be notarized with a stamp or seal, a self-addressed, stamped envelope that indicated where the record will be mailed back to. Mail the above document s to the Division of Motor Vehicles. To obtain your driving record in person, visit the nearest DMV office and fill the Delaware Personal Information Release Form (MV703). You will be issued with a copy of your driving record before you leave.  To order your driving record online in Delaware, you have to have a MyDMV account. You then log into the online services page and follow the steps to order your driving record. There is no free driving record available in Delaware. The state charges a fee of $15 to obtain your driving record. The payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and money order or check if you order by mail.

In Delaware, driving records are considered private and confidential. As a result driving records are only issued with the consent of the driver. However, there are exceptions to this requirement, which are organizations such as courts, law enforcement, or government agencies, employers, insurance companies and licensed private investigators or security services.
